A PAST FULL OF SUFFERING.

Urabá is the largest banana-growing area in Colombia and the vast majority of people who live here depend on the banana industry. But the region had been greatly affected by violence and poverty in the '80s, brought about by guerillas, drug traffickers and paramilitaries. The effects could be felt and seen everywhere.

To do business in Urabá, growers and exporters like Uniban had to stabilize the area, bring workers to the farms and create a more desirable environment with improved living conditions—from basic needs like housing and infrastructure to services that will provide for the future success of this region. We don't consider our actions charity. It’s collaboration and empowerment, with the involvement of the people of Urabá in all of our programs from day one.
