SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Background: Before the construction of this day care, many children in Urabá were growing up without having the right place to play, learn and interact with other kids; parents often had to reject job opportunities due to the fact that nobody could take care of their kids.
Project Description: Built 20 years ago, this day care is for children coming from low income families. In addition to a basic education, they receive a free meal every day to fight against the high levels of starvation that the region suffers.
Impact: Thanks to this project, 70 children per year count with an excellent environment to prepare for school. For their parents, this has represented a tremendous change in their lives as well because they’ve been able to go to work knowing their kids are in good hands.

"You surprise me every
day, this day care is better
every day, kids are happy
with the park that was
built, now we have to pick
them up because they
don't want to leave the
park."
- Gustavo Restrepo,
father
